RESIDENCE PASS-TALENT (RP-T)

The Residence Pass – Talent (RP-T) is a 10-year visa for an independent work pass for foreign talent that have completed 3 years on an Employment Pass (EP) and have a minimum monthly basic salary of RM 15,000.

ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for the RP-T, applicants need to be highly skilled individuals possessing the necessary professional qualifications, work experience, and hold a valid Employment Pass at the time of application.

Has worked in Malaysia for at least 3 years minimum

Holds a valid Employment Pass with more than 3 months validity at the time of application

Earns a basic monthly salary of RM15,000 which excludes any allowances and/or bonuses

Has a Malaysian income tax file number and has paid income tax for at least 2 years

Holds a PhD/Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in any discipline from a recognized university or a professional/competency certificate from a recognized professional institute

Possesses at least 5 years of total work experience

PREFERENCE

Preference will be given to foreign talent employed in these industries which form part of the National Key Economic Areas (NKEA) as outlined in the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) of the Government of Malaysia:

Palm Oil and Rubber

Tourism

Financial Services

Business Services

Communications, Content and Infrastructure

Electrical & Electronics

Wholesale and Retail

Education

Healthcare

Agriculture

Biotech

Aeronautics

IT sectors

A good justifications on how your expertise in certain field will benefit the locals will add more value to your application.

BENEFITS

Ability to live and work in Malaysia for up to 10 years with an option to renew

Flexibility to change employers without having to apply a new pass

Spouse and children under 18 years old are eligible for the RP-T dependent pass

Dependents over 18 years old, parents and parents-in-law are eligible for a renewable one-year Social Visit Pass for up to 5 years

Spouse are allowed to work without the need to apply for an Employment Pass

Spouse and children under 18 years old are also eligible to study in Malaysia
